The Center for Holistic Living was co-founded in 1993 by Stuart Over, MD and Philip Gill. The Center was dedicated in memory of Dr. Over's wife Helen. Shortly after Helen's massive stroke, which left her physically impaired and bitterly unhappy, Dr. Over met Ms. Dantes. Inspired by her compassion and intelligence, he joined the group of volunteers in her foundation. The experience of her understanding of the human condition had a profound effect on both himself and his wife, who went through a transformation from bitterness to a state of serenity and joy in life in her remaining years. Realizing many families would encounter similar emotional and physical challenges, the Center for Holistic Living was founded to bring, particularly to seniors, alternative ways of dealing with the aging process, health issues, and the need for spiritual expression, which was so important in the final years of Helen's life. Dr. Over passed away September 12, 1997.
